Based in Scotland Spark of Genius provides excellent residential care and education, inclusion and aftercare services, employability programmes, and innovative software solutions to enable young people (YP) who need a variety of supports to achieve their potential. We work with young people who:
- need temporary residential care to allow both young people and their parents/carers to work through specific family crisis situations
- need longer stay residential care to bring about transformational change in young people and their families/carers - the profiles of such young people may vary from those who are at risk, YP who may self harm, those who are with us as alternatives to secure placements, YP who have had offending behaviours in the past, and those who have experienced multiple placement breakdown
- for a variety of reasons, have found it extremely difficult to flourish in large mainstream educational settings
- need re-motivated to want to learn and who are enthused by a curriculum which ranges from hands on training in vocational skills to learning academic subjects using the online delivery of learning
- may be on the autistic spectrum, challenged by Aspergers
